SSH test failing: Protocol error: can not agree hostkey
I have many SSH tests running against Solaris servers, but I'm trying to get one working against a HP-UX server. The HP-UX server supports 3des. But it is failing with above error. You were able to help me with similiar error before, hope you can help here as well. Here is output from kssshcmd comma...

WMI test - Access Denied
Alex; I'm noticing that some WMI tests in HM return 'Access Denied', while others succeed. I know it should work because I use domain admin account for access, and if I use a different tool like Scriptomatic, it always works. I think I maybe found out why HM WMI test to gets 'Access Denied' on some ...

There is special test method for such purpose: NTP http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mframe.htm#tests.htm#ntp The NTP test looks to be testing NTP servers. While useful, I was more interested in checking NTP clients to ensure they were picking up the time from the domain controllers (which are als...

Add TranslateMacros option to more tests
I know some of the File/Folder tests let you put a macro like %datetime% on the test, but some of the other tests, like the SSH, HTTP and URL tests, could use this as well. Reason I say this ? I was trying to run a test against Unix server to check the server time and ensure it matched the time on t...

I am not a Unix expert, but I believe it supports 3des ok. If I run 'ssh -v -c 3des datwood@txpclo04' from another Unix server to get to this one, it works ok. It puts this in the debug output: debug1: kex: server->client 3des-cbc hmac-md5 none debug1: kex: client->server 3des-cbc hmac-md5 none If I...

SSH test returns "Protocol Error. Faint"
I've been trying to evaluate the new SSH test. I have both the test and Connection Manager setup ok as far as I can tell, but cannot get past this error. What does Faint mean ? Nothing shows in the connmgr log file.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Licensing questions
I need some clarification on the licensing for HostMonitor. If I wanted to install HM on a second server as a backup (in case the first server dies), but leave it disabled on the second server, would that require a second license ?? The second server would have the same configuration as the first an...
