Darren is getting exactly the same results as my own tests. I have verified that the +CMGS:xx is being sent by the Z-text, and appears to have been received by Host Monitor. Is it possible that Host Monitor is looking for <CR>+CGMS: xx<CR> rather than just +CGMS: xx<CR> which is what the Z-text send...

I'm running the Z-text modem on Com3 so i think that might rule out the possiblity of a Timing problem Not necessarily, as your symptoms appear to be the same as mine. I have tried a few test here, the best modem type to use seems to be the Seimens TC35. However, it still doesn't work correctly. When sending a message, the Z-text rersponds with +CMGS: 35 to acknowledge receipt of the message, but HostMonitor claims not to have received it. This may be a timing thi...

According to the GSM 07.07 specification, the AT+CGMI command is optional. However it has been added to the lastest beta release, along with a dummy AT+CPIN command to improve compatibility ( and a few others as well ).
