Anyone know a way to have HostMonitor send an alert if there are any zero length files in a specified directory?

Mike

Monitor process problem
We have 4 applications running on a server (Win2003). A couple of them are periodically crashing with a messagebox: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library --------------------------------- Runtime Error! Program C:\XXX\xxx.exe This application has request the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Pl...

Using hostmonitor/cacti is possible (I currently have this setup on a Windows 2003 server). It does take a bit of doing. Basically, you use the MySQL server to hold the hostmonitor data (same server that host the cacti data). You will need to create a new catalog (I called mine hostmonitor, and crea...

That would be it! It looks like someone (probably me) fat-fingered it.... it said 12. I thought I changed this to 120 (as the other one is set). In fact I thought I checked this out earlier.... obviously not though.... Once I updated it to the correct setting... viola! thanks for your quick help, Mike

"Counting files" test problems
I have a folder that I monitor that has a lot of files (240,000-260,000). At one remote site, it works fine. On the other site... it does not work so well. The test initally worked (set it up on Thursday to run every 12 hours), but sometime over the weekend, it started giving errors: RMA: Cannot rea...

Log analyzer and Test names
I have problem (maybe it is of my own doing): I have hostmonitor (v4.86) running monitoring different computers. Each computer has it's own "folder", say WebServer, SQLServer, etc. While there are different tests in each folder, most are the same (CPU, memory, disk bytes/sec, etc.). The te...

I just tried it out. With HostMonitor, I get: Error: Cannot retrieve data. Unknown variable (OID). With RMA, I get: SNMP error: No such name. I am able to get some some information looking at other OIDs (from both RMA and Hostmonitor), so I know that it should not be an access issue. If it helps, he...

I have a Cisco CSS 11800 and I can't use the 64-bit counters on it either, though I can view them with OIDview....

Problem with performance counters
I finally have the RMA-WIN agent (v1.07) set up at our remote site. The monitor computer here is running Hostmonitor 4.10. All the computers at the remote site are running Windows 2000 Advanced Server (SP4). The monitor computer is running Windows 2003 Enterprise server. My problem is this: When usi...
