Snmp get returns unknown

Post by darmen »

hi,
we are using HostMonitor 6.10 on windows server 2003. I am trying to set an snmp test. I ve assign the needed parameters and I can get the desired value when I press the "Get Value" button. The problem is that when I enable the test it returns unknown status and an empty reply..

How can I resolve the problem or what can I do?

Thanks..

What does happen when you refresh this test manually? Is status changed? Have you installed SP1 on your Windows 2003?
What version of mgmtapi.dll is on your system?

What exact OID do you test? Is it represents a single instance MIB object? If yes, you may provide ".0" at the end of OID. You may try to enable/disable "Automatically append the single instance sub-identifier (".0")." option (Options > Miscellaneous > Settings for SNMP Get tests)

What did you specify as agent address? "<local system>" or IP address?

If you click "Get value" button, HostMonitor uses the same API calls when it performs the test. Strange it works in one case...
Could you please provide more information
- Test is performed by HostMonitor itself? Or you are using Remote Monitoring Agent?
- You are checking local system or remote?
- What exactly OID do you use?
- HostMonitor is started as service or application?
