I get No Answer when I try to set up a test to any https:// secure site. I can pull up the page by typing the URL in a browser with no problems. I've tried serveral sites and get the same results. Any suggestions?

I'm running Host Monitor Ver.3.40 on a Windows 2000 system with SP3. One of the URLs I've been trying to test is https://extranet.mem.slr.com/loginmgr/login.html

I cannot access you server either (using any program). It does not accept connections on 443 port (https).

Sorry, you're right you won't be able to access that one. Here's a different one you should be able to access - https://support.minolta-qms.com/crmproof/login.asp

Yes, this site works and HostMonitor displays "host is alive" status. H'm, what version of Internet Explorer do you have installed? HM uses wininet.dll (part of IE) to acess to HTTP/HTTPS servers..

Problem with https://moneyvalve.net is easy to explain. This site has wrong certificate, sertificate was issued to http://www.moneyvalve.net. If you want to accept invalid sertificates by HostMonitor, enable apropriate options on Miscellaneous page in the Options dialog:
Accept SSL/PCT certificates with invalid host name - disables function checking of SSL/PCT-based certificates that are returned from the server against the host name given in the request.
Accept SSL/PCT certificates with invalid dates - disables function checking of SSL/PCT-based certificates for proper validity dates.

So, did change options help in your situation?

I enabled both options, saved the settings and the test still shows No answer for the url mentioned above. I can view the page in IE just fine. Is there anything else that could cause the test to fail? I also have IE6 w/SP1 and W2K.
Thanks...

Could you send your HML file to our address line1@ks-soft.net (for testing)?
