i was editing action profile ,
action parameters - From: , there have to be email adress.
somehow i put there an space, so my tests did not work.
now i erased space and tests are working.
if it is possible to check if there is space, it can be helpful

Well, we can check for space in e-mail address but this does not help you when you make any other typographic error. E.g. you can type "mike_paters@mydomain.com" instead of "mike_peters@mydomain.com". How HostMonitor should know you made a mistake?
There is not way to check for such errors until HostMonitor will try to send e-mail and receive error description from mail server.
You should check system log or Quick Log to check for such kind of errors.

One possible solution - Have a "Send test message" button on the Action Profiles dialog box. The administrators email address would be used as the return address with the body of the message requesting a return confirmation that the message was received.
This way, if the AHM admin does not receive the confirmation he/she knows to follow up/troubleshoot the problem before real alerts start coming in.
Similar strategies could be used for other alert methods (SMS, Jabber, etc.)
