.NET application performance counter on RMA 3.44 2003x64

Post by y.beyet »

Hello,
Impossible to get some performance counter with RMA 3.44 running under W2K3x64.
most of the perf counters are working but I can't get any information for this counter \\<server>\ASP.NET Applications(__Total__)\Cache Total Entries (for example)
But it's working with hostmonitor.
Any ideas ?
Regards.

Actually, HostMonitor and RMA uses the same code for the "Performance Counters" test. :-?
Do you want to check counters on the machine, where RMA is running? In this case, could you try to select "Use local computer counters" option in "Select a counter to monitor" window?

As a workaround, I would suggest you to use "WMI" test method: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... ts.htm#wmi

the errors are for all performance objects called "ASP.NET*" tested by rma if the counter is taken on a x64 server.

Looks like it is a real problem to gather performance information from 64-bit machine by 32-bit application. We will try to investigate the problem and find the appropriate solution. As a workaround, I would suggest you to implement the approach, described in the following article: http://blogs.msdn.com/edglas/pages/read ... chine.aspx
