Can Host Monitor monitor the exchange queues in real time, and then page me if a queue reaches a certain threshold? |

I think you can use Performance Counter test for this purpose.

Yes, performance counter for the number of files in the queue as reporterd by exchange to the OS. And count number of files to see the actual number of files in the mta direcotry. |

Ok, Ive setup a counter, but it doesnt show me the current number of messages, but the total bytes in the queue... or am I looking at the wrong counter? |

Select the MTA Queue length. Just startup performance monitor and you can find the exact name very easy. |
