Hi, can you please tell me if Hostmonitor would cause any performance degradation to an existing Star Network topology? Which tests or components would cause most impact and by how much would I expect the Network to slow down? |

Chanakk,
It depends on how much tests do you plan to implement. If you will perform 100 ping tests every 5 minutes, its not a problem for any network. Another case if you want to test thousands web pages every minute (especially with "check contents" & "download images" options).

Again, its depend on settings. The same tests can produce significant traffic or generate very low traffic, everything depends on settings. E.g. URL Request test will generate much bigger traffic when you enable "check contents" & "download images" options. Traffic that produces Ping test depends on "packet size" & "retries" options. Significant traffic can generate Folder Size test in case you check folders and files on remote system. The same about File Integrity test. I can speak about different theories all night, but the best way is practice. I think you should just try HostMonitor.
Regards
