I see what you are saying, however we are not logging in to view this in explorer, it is already connected. It just appears that the size of the file is refreshed if you view through explorer rather than Host Mon checking the file size. Also, we run the same test to log files on 5 other servers and ...

Log file test does not refresh logfile size

We have a couple of tests set up on remote servers which are set to alert if the log file is NOT greater than 0kb. This past week we have been alerted that the test is BAD, however as soon as you log into the remote server in question, you can see the size of the log file within explorer go from 0kb...

We are unable to access processes via HostMon on any of our remote servers. We can access the processes by connecting to the remote pc though system information. On speaking to various areas, there has been no patching to servers, no additional software and no firewall change and it appears the only...

I will try it but do you think it's likely this has happened on 5 different servers all at the same time?

I have downloaded this utility which shows both files as enabled. I disabled, then re-enabled and rebooted the server but the test result is still unknown

The reply field is blank. There are 5 servers affected. They all also have tests for ping, log file string search and log file not growing which are all reporting back successfully. I set up a CPU usage test on one of the servers which again gives the status of unknown, with a reply unable to locate...

Cannot retrieve process list

This past week all of our tests which are checking that a java process is running on various different servers have all changed to status:unknown. We are able to connect to the server remotely and view through system information, so the service account we are using does have permission but it seems ...

Just to clarify, the actual setting is to notify after 2 bad results. Obviously once the file is checked again, the string is still in the log file as our files are only archived overnight so the same string is picked up, and the result remains bad until it is archived. I guess what I really want to...

Hi Alex All our tests are set to notify only after 2 bad results, however there doesn't seem to be a way to make this work within a log file. As soon as a string appears once, the email alert goes out so it is hard to tell without logging onto the server whether this is one error string or 100. Thanks

Search String test query

Can you please let me know if it is possible for a log file test (compare files) to alert after a string has appeared say 5 times, rather than just the first time?
