Master Tests: Ping Host 1 Or Ping Host 2

I have a Ping test that depends on the Ping to the router between Host Monitor and the host being good. I also have another parallel router that could be up if the first router is down. So I would like to make the master test something like this: if (ping router1 = Up) or (ping router2 = Up) then pi...

DHCP With Host Monitor on Static IP?

I see a lot of people asking why they get No Answer from the DHCP test. I was wondering if the reason why is that Host Monitor is running on a system with a static IP? I have that situation, and I am getting the same response. All our servers use static IPs. Only desktops and laptop systems use DHCP...

Ping Times

Thanks Kris. I guess we aren't the only ones.

Alex: We will give disabling autotuning a try, but it sounds like there may be some commonality with Windows Server 20008 R2. I wonder if this is seen with Windows Server 2012?

Increasing Ping times - Reboot clears

We consistently see an increase in ping times, leading to false positive alerts. After rebooting the server, the ping times flatten out to 10 or so ms. This can be seen in the chart history. Look at the last 24 hours. The system was rebooted at 21:00. The ping times are way out of line with the manu...

Many, but not all, of the 1 minute tests are showing Interval=600 in the export file. Do you mean you open Test Properties dialog, verify test interval is 10 min, export test settings into text file and see 600 sec interval??? May we see your HML file with tests (you may send it to support@ks-soft....

Not using Change Test Interval. Version 9.90. Recently upgraded from version 8.5 (not sure of the 5).

For grins I tried changing the interval to 10 min, clicking apply, then changing it back to 1. The exported interval is now 60. This is nuts. I have over 500 tests that I no longer have confidence in.

>ping tests that should run every minute. The actual tests are running about every 10 minutes >Interval = 600 You set test interval to 10 min (600 sec), that's why test is performed every 10 min Regards Alex Interesting. I have it set to one minute. Not 10. I would paste a screen shot if I could (W...

Doesn't seem to have done anything

I am not sure if I set it up correctly. There is no private log file. Not testing every minute

I have over one hundred different ping tests that should run every minute. The actual tests are running about every 10 minutes. Am I asking too much of the system? % CPU is under 10%, most of the time around 3-5%. There is plenty of memory and the network is doing fine. HM Monitor says it is at 5.34...
