LDAP test to 2003 Active Directory

Post by Troy.Ryan »

Hey guys I’m new to hostmonitor. I'm trying to use the LDAP test to test our DC's but i get the same error on all three I’ve tried.

Status: Bad

I’m sure it a very simple problem, and just due to my lack of experience.

According to the Microsoft, the error Indicates that during a bind operation one of the following occurred:
1. The client passed either an incorrect DN or password.
2. The password is incorrect because it has expired, intruder detection has locked the account, or some other similar reason.

Are you sure you have entered correct information into Login/password fields? Could you try to specify the username in different formats, e.g: Username, Domain\Username, Username@Domain?
Do you use "Perform Search op." option?

Max

Thanks for the reply, for whatever reason I didn’t think to try domain\username in the username field but that’s what I needed.

Thanks for the help!!
