Jabber problem

Post by mbuyukkarakas »

Dear all,

I'm trying Host Monitor 7.78 on my corporate LAN.

I installed at my XP SP3 workstation and it's working very good.

But I can't send notifications to my jabber account.

HM is reaching Internet via ISA server and ISA Firewall client. I can telnet at 5222 to all jabber servers at HM system.

I created an account at jabber.org and I'm using to send the notifications. But I always see the same error messages at logs.

Error: Cannot send message to Jabber account mbuyukkarakas @ talk.google.com. Invalid recipient or recipient unavailable;

Error: Cannot send message to Jabber account mbuyukkarakas @ talk.google.com. Your username or password is incorrect;

Any suggestion ?

Regards.

Sorry, could not reproduce the problem. :-?
I suppose, you specified incorrect parameters.
Could you send screen-shot of "Options" -> "Jabber" tab and "Action Properties" window of "Send message to Jabber" action to support@ks-soft.net, please?

Regards,

BTW: Is it exact quote "mbuyukkarakas @ talk.google.com"? There is space before and after @ symbol. Probably you added space to protect message from spam bots? If not, you should fix this mistake in the action parameters.

Hi Alex, I think it's about proxy configuration and Firewall settings.

I had the chance to test all my config on my ADSL connected laptop , in first try I had a setting in proxy config and the messaging has not worked.

But after removing all the proxy settings and redirecting HM to connect directly to Internet, everthing has worked well.

As I told you before we have to use ISA firewall client to connect to internet. Maybe this is the reason.

So, I will ask from the FW admin to open all the necessary ports.

I will inform you after trying this config.

Regards.

Usually HostMonitor cannot work thru proxy (except some tests like URL and HTTP). Firewall is not a problem when necessary ports are open
