Hi,admin
I use the HM to monitor my website。
But I have a question now.
1.I do daily monitoring, and generate the report every 30 mins.
This is report 1;
2.I open the option of the use privare log ,and select the option of the
Full.This is the report 2.
The question is the two reports are different with each other quite often, even make a great difference.
Could you tell me why?
Warting for your reply .Thanks a lot.
the different test result between the two logs
Oh,your mean is that the log's content include the test report.right?KS-Soft wrote:Of course its different. Report shows current test statuses. Log file shows historical records.
Sorry, I do not understand what exactly is the problem.

Alex
In that case. What can I do for it make the report and the log have the same content ?
about select some options?
I mean that "report" and "log" are 2 different animals. They cannot look the same and they should not look the same. It just does not make any sense to me
Actually, why do you need 2 identical files? If you need 2 report files, just make a copy or select the same report profile twice.
I assume I just do not understand your needs
Could you please explain what kind of information do you need to show and why do you think that report should look similar to the log?

Alex

^_^ sorry, because of my poor English ,so that you can't understand any more...
Usually,I look over the test report generated yesterday on daily morning.
If I find some tests' average alive% low,so I check the private log to find what the problem is.
just like:the report is the final result ,but the log is the total process.
SO I think that report look similar to the log.
Do you understand my meaning now?^_^
Yes, I understand. It sounds right.Usually,I look over the test report generated yesterday on daily morning.

Now I do not understand.SO I think that report look similar to the log.
What exactly is wrong with report or log?

I think the two number are the same. But I find there is some different in some situations。
For example the test report alive% is 82%,but the private log is 100%.
so I do not understand why .
KS-Soft wrote:Log does not show "alive %" counter at all. Log record includes the following fieldsFor example the test report alive% is 82%,but the private log is 100%
- Event time
- Test name
- Status
- Reply
- Test method
There is no "alive %"

There is a couter named "Alive time" when I open the Log with the Log analyzer
Finally you said that you are using Log Analyzer. So, lets talk about HostMonitor and Log Analyzer, instead of file #1 and file #2.
1) There is "Statistics" option offered by HostMonitor. Optional located on Misc page in the Options dialog.
- Display Alive/Dead ratio of passed/failed tests
- Display Alive/Dead ratio of alive/dead time
This switch defines how Alive/Dead/Unknown ratio should be calculated: it is either based on quantity of passed/failed probes or based on alive/dead time (new mode). New mode is useful when you setup HostMonitor to change test intervals for failed tests.
2) Log Analyzer offers "Dead/Alive ratio" option that is located on Statistics page in the Options dialog
This option specifies how "alive time" versus "dead time" percentage should be calculated.
- 100% time = alive + dead + unknown
Defines the total monitored time (for each test) as the sum of time intervals when the test had "good", "bad" or "unknown" status. Time intervals during which the test was disabled or was waiting for master test are ignored. So, "alive" ratio = (alive time) / (alive + dead + unknown time)
- 100% time = alive + dead + unknown + WaitForMaster
Defines the total monitored time (for each test) as the sum of time intervals when the test had "good", "bad", "unknown" or "WaitForMaster" status. Time intervals during which test was disabled are ignored. So "alive" ratio = (alive time) / (alive + dead + unknown + WaitForMaster time)
- 100% time = alive + dead + unknown + disabled
Defines the total monitored time (for each test) as the sum of time intervals when the test had "good", "bad", "unknown" or "disabled" status. Time intervals during which test was waiting for master test are ignored. So, "alive" ratio = (alive time) / (alive + dead + unknown + disabled time)
- 100% time = alive + dead + unknown + disabled + WaitForMaster
Defines the total monitored time (for each test) as the sum of time intervals when test had "good", "bad", "unknown", "disabled" or "WaitForMaster" status. So "alive" ratio = (alive time) / (alive + dead + unknown + disabled + WaitForMaster time)
3) Make sure you set logging options for the test when test just was created. If test was created on June 01 while logging was enabled on July 15, then of course you will see different stats. You may remove the log (HostMonitor will create new one) and reset statistics using Reset button to start collecting information using both methods at the same time.
