Hi All,
I have an 8.26 install running on a VM (ESX) that has been fine until recently, not sure when this occurred - but today I can't create new tests as the screen is slightly corrupted around where you select the type of test (ping, shell script etc).. I've been working via the server console, and RDP /console but both have this corruption.. is this a known issue or should I schedule a reboot to try and clear it?
I have a screenie but nowhere to post it - could mail it to support if it helps.

H'm, long time ago such problem was caused by complex combination of bad implementation of some Windows API function in relation to interactive services plus some incompatible code in compiler library.
Then we found some workaround plus Windows API was improved in Windows 2000, so we did not hear for such problem years.
Not again
If that is the same problem somehow related to VMWare, it will be really hard to fix it.
I assume HostMonitor is started as service (such problem never happened to application)?
What version of VMWare do you use? Guest OS? Service Pack?
Yes, screen shot will be useful (support@ks-soft.net), may be we just misunderstand the problem.
Posible workarounds for now
- start HostMonitor as application
- or use RCC instead of HostMonitor GUI
- or use physical system instead of VMWare
- or may be there is some fix/update for VMWare (not sure about this one)
Regards
Alex

Thanks for the reply Alex, it has been fixed (or worked around) by restarting the service - we had a quiet 10 minutes when the run team went to tea
HM is running as a service.
Windows 2003 SP2 on ESX 3.5
I have observed the same issue running RCC on my workstation, but obviously there a restart isn't much of an issue.
It's rare enough in both cases to not cause me great concern, just wondered if it had been reported as a known issue with the 8.26 version
I'll mail you the screenshot - it looks like the test is stuck as a PING check and you can't edit it whilst other parts of the window are fine. Quite strange.

RCC as well? Then its different problem...
May be some bug in VMWare tools, may be system is out of resources...
If this happens next time, could you please check resource usage for each process? You may use standard Windows Task Manager to check Handles, GDI and USER objects. What is the total resource usage on the system? How many handles/threads/GDI objects used by hostmon.exe or rcc.exe process?
