We have been running a mail relay test for several months and suddenly with out warning the tests started failing. We are getting a No answer error and a Bad test error.
We are checking between 2 domains. Test one goes from Server a to server B and takes several minutes of checking before getting the Bad resonse, the second test from server b to server a immediatly goes into the no answer state.
When I recreated the tests they succeded the first time as good but on the next run through they failed.
Mail Relay suddenly fails
"Bad" status means HostMonitor is able connect to the server but cannot send/receive e-mail. There are many possible reasons (e.g. login error), for most reasons HostMonitor shows error description in Reply field of the test. Do you see any message there?
"No answer" means HostMonitor cannot connect to the server at all. Please check test settings (hostname or IP address of the server, TCP port used by the server), your antivirus and/or firewall settings (may be it blocks connections from HostMonitor to mail server)
Regards
Alex
