Post by svathr »

Hi,

The Situation:
I must virtualize the old Hostmonitor-Server, all of the old server have worked.

On the new server:
A Intern URL check always says the check is bad and it doesn't work.
Need Hostmonitor for a URL check a seperate .dll file or anything else?

Can anybody help me?
I am soo desperate....

ps: Sorry for my English...I speak german....

What exactly is test status: "Bad", "No answer", "Bad contents" ?
What is HostMonitor version ?
What Windows do you use ? Service Pack ?
Is HostMonitor started as Application or Service ?

The status is "bad"
The version is 8.86 and the version of the old Hostmonitor Server is 8.32.
I use Windows Server 2008 R2 Standrad.
Ehm....both? the application need the service...or what do you mean? :)

"Bad" status for URL test means HostMonitor is able to connect to the server and receive answer while this answer indicated some HTTP error. E.g. HTTP code 404 means "page not found".
You may setup some action (e.g. Send E-Mail) using %HTTPCode% and %HTTPHeader% to check answer from the server.
Also you may use "Tune up Reply value" test option and expression like %HttpCode%. This way you will see HTTP code returned by web server in Reply field of the test.
Ehm....both? the application need the service...or what do you mean?
No, HostMonitor application does not need HostMonitor service and you should not start both instances at the same time. That's why HostMonitor warns you when you are trying to start application while service is running.

Yes I know, but all tests are properly configured.
I have copy the users.lst and the other files too, and on the old Hostmonitor it works.

Need the test a .dll file or anything else?

If there some problems with DLLs, HostMonitor would set Unknown status.
Could you please check HTTP result code as described in my previous post?

As Alex said in previous posts:
You should turn on "Tune up Reply value" option (located on Test properties dialog of URL test) with macro variable: %HttpCode%
This way you will see HTTP code, returned by web server in Reply field of the test.
