Logging & Private Logging

Post by Bobzbobz »

Hi, i have a question

I made private-logs for a couple of tests to run at 07:00 in the morning.
I also made them "member" of the "Common Log" (which runs at 00:00)

But when I open the private log, I also see the result of the Common Log.

Is it possible to make the tests write to both logs, but ONLY at 07:00 for the private, and ONLY 00:00 for the common?

Maybe i should write this instead:

Logging should happen:
At 00:00 ONLY to the common log
At 07:00 ONLY to the private log

Right now it logs:
At 00:00 AND 07:00 to the private log

Are you using our software? HostMonitor?
HostMonitor does not have any "timing" options for logging. If you setup 2 logs for some test items, data will be logged into 2 logs.

Unless you are using "Record HM log" ACTION with "time restriction" option...

Hi again

I made some pictures to better explain.
- let me know if you cant see them

1. Here is the HM-Options, where i set the common log
- When status changes & at midnight (00:00)
Image

2. Here is the test i run (every day at 07:00).
- I activate private log, and set it to "Full"
Image

INFO: the test, and the private log does not match each other, but the consept is the same - i have a private log for each subnet

3. And here is the PRIVATE LOG open.
- I want to avoid the top "entries" (the ones at 00:00:22)
- They should ONLY be logged in the COMMON LOG

Maybe i have not fully understod the correct use of logs yet >.<

And here is the PRIVATE LOG open.
- I want to avoid the top "entries" (the ones at 00:00:22)
- They should ONLY be logged in the COMMON LOG
Then you should disable private logging for this test and add "Record HM Log" action into action profile assigned to this test
