Variables in Test Name

Post by OZ »

Hi
I would like to use the Variable %CommentLine1% in the Test Name but i dont get the Content - instead i see %CommentLine1%.
Is there a possibility to get this content in the Testname?
Thanks a lot for your help!

%CommentLine1% variable can be used as parameter of the action
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... .htm#macro

There is list of variables that can be used as test parameters
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... pvariables

No, however
- if you type comment field manually, you may easily copy this text from one field to another (comment -> name).
- if you setup HostMonitor patterns to fill up comment field automatically then you may setup patterns to fill up testname field automatically as well

I think it would be useful to allow Folder Variables in the Test Name field. Perhaps a low priority feature request. :-)

Hi Alex. Thanks for the great support, as always!

I realize now that the variables are case sensitive and that if you use an upper-case character, HM automatically changes the case to lowercase for you, when you save.

So, what happened is I created a NEW folder variable called: fvar_wwwX

Then I used %fvar_wwwX% in my Test Name

However, since HM had changed the variable name to fvar_wwwx, it didn't work.

Now that I have realized all of this... it works !! :P

Thanks again,

Yes, custom variables should be in lower case.
You are welcome
