All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
I am using wmi explore to test a remote server, and am able to successfully query the parameter i want (select freephysicalmemory from Win32_OperatingSystem) This returns a value in the explorer. I then pass that query into the hostmonitor using WMI as the test method and it fails with acces is denied.
I have other tests setup for this box and all work fine, this is my first wmi test on it though.
I have the credentials setup in the connection manager but i cant seem to get past this. I dont get how the explorer works fine but the monitor then fails. Help please
First, I would recommend to check security event log on target system. Any error messages?
Please make sure failure auditing is enabled on that system.
Could you please give us more information:
What HostMonitor version do you use ?
Do you use RCC to manage HostMonitor ?
What other tests works on that remote server ?
Is HostMonitor started as Application or Service ?
I have checked the event logs security section and there are no audit failures.
I am using version 8.86
Not using RCC
Other tests performed on this server are, Ping, CPU Usage, Free disk space via UNC, Traffic.
It is started as an application.
Sounds pretty strange
Are you sure you have specified correct username and password using Connection Manager? Have you marked "WMI" item for this account?
I have checked the event logs security section and there are no audit failures
May be this kind of auditing is not enabled on target system?
What Windows do you have installed on local and remote system?
Service Pack?
