All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
i'm little bit in trouble monitoring a couple of managed networkswitches.
The main Monitorsystem only allows snmp-get . The Switches are not in the same ip-submask then the main monitor system and it is not allowed for security reasons to make a routing to the right subnet.
So i tried to make the hostmonitor the snmp-get retrieves and send it on the right ip-adress / networkcard to the main monitoring system. But unfortunatly there are only snmp-traps could be sent.
Is it possible to make a locale snmp-system that can be set from hostmonitor and in following could be read by the main monitoring system per snmp-get?
i hope my question is understandable, cause my english seems not to be so good.
It depends on what exactly is "main Monitorsystem". If this is HostMonitor, then you may use passive or active Remote Monitoring Agents (RMA) to requests devices in separate networks protected by firewall. http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/rma-win/index.htm
If this is some other software, ask developers of that software. May be they have solution similar to our RMA.
i tought about an option to make windows an snmp device that can be set per snmp set and the windows will be requestet from the guided system via snmp get.
We do not have such software. As I know there are OPC-SNMP gateways, if you install such software you should be able to access OPC service using SNMP Get test method.
