"start" button appears on the toolbar

Post by Nic »

Hi
A few times recently, we've realised one of our hostmonitor servers isn't running any tests, and found that a button just called "start" is on the toolbar, and as soon as we click it, it disappears and everything resumes!

We can't find any reference to this, and can't work out why or how the tests all simultaneously pause.

Can you point to the documentation on this please, so we can understand how it works.

Thanks

Nic

1) If several persons have access to HostMonitor, you may delegate different set of rights for each operator. E.g. you may provide "start/stop monitoring" permission to single person.

2) You may check system log to see when monitoring was stopped, this may help to find out who stopped monitoring.
BTW: Version 9 will provide more detailed "user actions log".

3) May be monitoring was stopped by script... So you may need to check your HM Scripts.

PS
Using menu Monitoring -> Pause you may provide an action profile that will be executed every time when monitoring is stopped or paused. An action profile will be executed regardless of the way monitoring was stopped (e.g. by a local or remote user or by HM script).

Thanks Alex

We have set up the alert profile for paused/stopped in an attempt to find out why/when its getting paused.

Thanks for such a speedy reply!
