I am looking to monitor a handful of VMware ESXi 4.1 servers. More specifically I would like to monitor the hardware health status and datastore free space.
I did some research and I found this how-to on monitoring free space on a datastore which is exactly what I am looking for but it is for ESX 3.5 and does not work on ESXi 4.1.

Also, what are some other tests that you all are running?
Your help is much appreciated!!!
Monitor VMware ESXi 4.1
What exactly edition of VMWare ESXi do you use?
According to VMWare manuals VMWare ESXi 4.1 supports SNMP protocol when licensed with vSphere Essentials, vSphere Essential Plus, vSphere Standard, vSphere Advanced, vSphere Enterprise or vSphere Enterprise Plus.
The free vSphere Hypervisor edition does not support SNMP.
If your edition of VMWare supports SNMP, you may use simple SNMP Get, SNMP Table or SNMP Trap test methods

http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... m#snmptrap
Information about SNMP Table test method is not listed on web site. If you have installed Advanced Host Monitor version 9.00, you may check the manual or help file that is included in the package.
