We call such files - log files.
Reports shows current statuses, statisctics.

You may setup HostMonitor to create new log files every day, every month, or every year...
Quote from the manual
----------------------------
If you have chosen "File" as type of the log, then you should define location and name of the common log file. Select one of the following options:
- Log to specific file
- Automatically change the log every month (MMYYYY-Log.ext)
- Automatically change the log every week (WWYYYY-Log.ext)
- Automatically change the log every day (DDMMYYYY-Log.ext)
If you select option to automatically change the log file date macro variables may be specified in the log file name. HostMonitor interprets text between the '%' of the log name as a macro, where 'DD' represents the day of the month, 'WW' - current week number, 'MM' - the month, 'YY' - the year in two digit format, 'YYYY' - the year.
----------------------------

because we need report to our leader what have happened every day the report should include testname 、 when failed 、 when come back
need not include the good items
we need the report as briefly as possible

No, logs shows you all events.
Reports shows you current statuses, statisctics
because we need report to our leader what have happened every day the report should include testname 、 when failed 、 when come back
need not include the good items
Not sure how you can show when test item restored good status ("when come back") without displaying "good items"?
we need the report as briefly as possible
You can use Brief logging mode, HostMonitor will record event when test status changes.

BTW: if you want to create report (not log) to display test items that changed test status within last 24 hours, you may use View
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... #ViewsList

E.g. you may setup View using option "Select items using expression %CurrentStatusDuration_sec% < 86400"
then setup reports using options licated on Reports page in View Properties dialog.
