Hi,
we are currently using HostMon 6.8 (don't ask me why) and want to upgrade to latest 9+ version. Can we perform in-place upgrade or do we need to backup tests and restore to new version or what is a best practice for such upgrade to preserve all tests and configuration?
Thanks
Jan
Upgrade HostMon 6.8 to 9+
Well, backup is always good idea. We will not be able to restore your settings if your hard drive dies. Also you may need old config files when you want to downgrade software (e.g. you do not have license for new version). And so on.
Another good idea - check if your license valid for new version. You may use menu Help->Update check or send request to sales@ks-soft.net
How to update? That's simple procedure:
- stop HostMonitor application and utilities (services can be stopped automatically by installation program);
- start new installation program;
- choose Update/Repair mode (it should be selected automatically when new version detects old one);
- click [Next] button several times and enjoy new version
(apply new registration codes using menu Help->License when necessary)
Regards
Alex
