Remote reboot only works when rma_active is running as appli

Post by KapowSoftware »

Hi,

I have a test that monitors a specific URL by performing a form POST. If this test times out, it executes a "Local reboot" action, executed by the agent.

However, it works only if the rma_active application is running in a window but it doesn't work when the agent is running as a service. I've tried both LOCALSYSTEM and Administrator as "Log on" users for the service, but it doesn't work.

If it is running as a service, I get: "Action "Local reboot" was not executed by RMA "tmi-tools". RMA Error: 301 - Cannot reboot local computer. Incorrect function" in the syslog.htm on the Hostmonitor server.

Windows?
Service Pack?
UAC enabled?
If you are using Windows Vista+ and UAC is enabled, use BUILT-IN administrator account.

Hi KS-Soft.

Thanks for a quick reply.

The server is a:
Windows Server 2003 SP2, 32-Bit

UAC wasn't invented back then :)

We cannot reproduce the problem.
What version of software (HostMonitor and RMA) do you use?
