Variable for Dependent Tests

Post by oakyuz »

Hi

We are using AHM v9.56 on Windows 2008 R2 (x64).

I need to add Dependent Tests of a test to Send Mail action,i.e., to the mail body.

I searched a variable for dependent tests (like %MasterTests%) in the help and could not find. Is this correct? If so, is there a way to include Dependent Tests in the mail body as a variable or may it be implemented like %DependentTests%?

Thanks,
Oguzhan

Often single Master test has thousand dependant items so we did not implement such variable...
We can implement it but probably it should be limited, e.g. return only 5-10 dependant test items.

Hi Alex

I agree with you that some tests have a great number of dependent tests, especially, PING tests. I do not even want to write too many dependent tests to the mail body.

Why I asked this question is because one of our users who is responsible for some web servers wanted to see which web sites or web services get affected quickly when she get an alert mail saying a web server status is DOWN.

Without implementing %DependentTests%, is there a way that I can show her these dependent tests (I examined web service, no result)? If it can be implemented, I also think 10 dependent tests would be enough.
