Thanks Alex,

I am now running the tests in "Regular Schedule" mode at 23hr 59min 59secs to see if they work the way we intend them to work.

Will report back my results.

Hi Alex,

We are now 99.9% confident the email test does not work with "Irregular Schedules"

We have tested the following (Doesn't work):

Irregular Schedule = Start Test once a day = 18:00:00

By expression = * * 18:00

The following works perfectly:

Regular Schedule: Test Every 23hrs 59min 59secs

Our email test is testing based on the subject line. All the tests that fail do however successfully login to the mail server but never return the subject line.

If we setup our tests to run at "Regular Schedule" as per above than all successfully return the subject line.

We have also setup all tests to run at the same time.

I am happy to leave it run every 23hrs 59min 59secs but just thought you might like to test it on your end.

Many thanks for your help.

Sound like problem relates to your mail server.
HostMonitor executes tests the same way regardless of schedule mode. If HostMonitor executes test, then it works.
Not Working - If we wait for the 6pm schedule the tests start but the result is never received. It's like it doesn't read the email on the schedule. We know there are genuine emails in there as well.
...
All the tests that fail do however successfully login to the mail server but never return the subject line.
"result is never received" sounds like test stays in "Checking" status until you reboot HostMonitor.
While "successfully login to the mail server but never return the subject line" sounds like HostMonitor set Bad or Ok status and empty Reply value.
What exactly test status do you see? Bad? Ok? Unknown?

Do you still use condition for "warning" status? Could you disable all "optional status processing" options and check status and reply field of the test (when test "not working")?

Did you try to set "Non-simultaneously test execution" option for folder where these tests located (if all tests located in single folder)?

Do you still use single filter condition - check subject for expression ("Hello" and "World")?
Could you please export test settings into text file (menu File->Export...) and send to support@ks-soft.net? or better send HML file with tests + actions.lst + schedule.lst
Also, could you please send part of log file that shows test results?

Regards
Alex

Thanks Alex,

Am happy to keep it the way it is.

All the tests are now running perfectly with the regular schedule set to 23:59:59.

Even when we select all the tests and run them at once it executes and returns a perfect result.

Many thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated.

For the record we already had "non-simulataneous" execution setup. This never helped.

Our Email tests always fail with Irregular Schedule.

Anyhow. Am happy with Regular Schedule and just setting it to run every 24hrs.

You are welcome

What exactly test status do you see (when optional status processing disabled)? Bad? Ok? Unknown?

Hi Alex,

If we disable optional processing the status for all emails when using irregular schedule is "ok". The problem is it never returns the subject and the email in the mailbox is never deleted. This is how we know it doesn't work.

We have ticked the option to delete the email. We have also enabled the option to return subject.

It only ever works with regular schedule as per previous post.

Cheers. :)

It does not make any sense...
Probably we misunderstand something but we don't know what exactly :(
We need detailed info - test settings, logs, emails from your server.

Thanks Alex,

Am happy to use it with regular schedule. It's not an inconvenience at all.

To replicate the problem on your end create the following:

1. Email Test
2. Check for subject expression ("Hello" and "World")
3. Delete email after checking
4. Use IMAP or POP (Same behaviour for both)
5. Use Irregular Schedule or Irregular Expression for test
6. In the reply drop down box return the subject.

Result: All emails return OK with no subject line.

Thanks Alex.

We tried this, we cannot reproduce the problem - tests work regardless of schedule mode, as it should be...
