HM 9.80B web interface

Post by Kris »

Hiya all,

Just installed HM 9.80B.
When I try to login to the web interface (using IE9 from the computer where HM is installed) I get a login prompt.
After I enter the usual credentials, nothing happens.

edit: Maybe some elaboration needed;
The browser shows the loading bar/circle/hourglass(depending on browser), as if something is actually being loaded.
This behaviour is the same on any PC in te network, using either IE, Chrome or FF.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

IE 9 is not supported.
We cannot reproduce the problem using latest and previous versions of Chrome, Opera, FireFox.

What exactly URL do you use?
Did you try old interface (http://hostname/index.htm)?
How many test items in your list? 1,000? 50,000?
FF version? Chrome version?

Regards

Hi Alex,

Chrome 32.0.1700.72
IE 9.0.8112

url: http://<hostname>/ws2/index.html

Test items 300

When I try the old interface URL I get:
Response from HostMonitor's Web Service:
Error: Unsupported RCI version, please download the latest version of WebService

IE 9.0.8112 - as I said IE 9 not supported. It does not support most of HTML 5 features (even IE 11 supports HTML 5 much worse than Chrome, however WS interface work with IE 10, IE 11)
Chrome 32.0.1700.72 - should work fine
Response from HostMonitor's Web Service:
Error: Unsupported RCI version, please download the latest version of WebService
You are using HostMonitor and WebService from different packages.
Please use ALL COMPONENTS of the software from the same installation package

I downloaded HM9.80B, stopped HM, ran the installer, waited for it to finish and the started HM again.
What could possibly have gone wrong?

FYI:

The WebService version currently in the HM program folder is 3.86.
This is the one I'm running.

What could possibly have gone wrong?
May be installation program displayed some errors?
May be Web Service installed on different system?
May be you have several installations located in different foders?
May be you chose Lite or Professional installation mode?

Ah... I see what's wrong now.

There's a "webservice.exe" in the HM program folder, but the new one is in the Webservice folder....

Silly me....

WebService.exe located in separate folder since 1st release (Advanced Host Monitor version 4.00)
You just made a copy. Please remove it, there is no sense to keep old version in wrong folder.
