Remove pollution

Post by Kris »

Hiya all,

I sometimes come accross tests that have some very unrealistic values in their history.
For example, on one of the servers, a 'CPU-Usage' test for some reason recorded a single peak value of '6500' (not sure where that came from anyways), which makes the history charts rather hard to read, if not useless.

So, it would be nice if I could go into the history of that test and remove the faulty value.

Is that possible?

Thanks!

HostMonitor cannot change historical data (its possible if you are using Log Analyzer)

HostMonitor version? OS on target system?

Hi Alex,

HM Server: HM 9.90 on W2K8R2 Ent.
Target OS: W2K12R2 Ent.

What exactly do you mean by 'its possible if you are using Log Analyzer'?

Thanks!

You may check historical charts using HostMonitor.
You may check historical charts using Log Analyzer or Log Viewer applications.

If you are using Log Analyzer or Log Visualizer, you may modify logs.

Ah OK.

But these changes are not saved, so they will not benefit the Performance Chart views, right?

You may save changes in log file, so Log Analyzer and Log Visualizer will show data you need. But you cannot modify charts displayed by HostMonitor.

That's why we want to fix the problem for the future - wrong test result.
Test method? CPU Usage? Performance Counter? Dominant process?
