All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
We've tested this scenario on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
Using these settings with HostMonitor, started as Application should definately work.
If HostMonitor is started as Service, using Administrator account is not enough (due to UAC restrictions).
BUILT-IN Administrator account or "Local system account" should be used (Services page of Options dielog)
What do you mean by BUILT-IN Administrator account?
We're using the administrator account that was created by the OS installation.
We were using Local System before but that presented a dialog that can't be answered as shown in the event viewer, when dnscmd was executed.
Yes, BUILT-IN Administrator account is the first account created when the operating system is installed. By default, it has name "Administrator".
It is not affected by UAC (by default) when it is used with Windows Service applications. However this behaviour can be changed using Group Policy.
