Reveiw Statistics for test from an RCI session

Post by terje »

In hostmonitor you can normally right-click on a test and review the statistics. This opens Log Analyser and filters for the specific test.

I can't do this from an RCI client.

I figured that if we:-

1. publish the logs to a well known UNC that the RCI client can access
2. install the Log Analyser on the RCI client machine also
3. create a custom menu to launch the Log Analyser with the relevant parameters then it should in theory do the same trick.

My questions are:-

What parameters do I pass to the program?
What are the licence implications?

Yes, its because Log Analyzer does not have access to file on remote system...
I think solution that we will recommend in future - use ODBC logging. In this case Log Analyzer will be able to work with logs from remote system.
We need to implement some options to make it easier...
What parameters do I pass to the program?
3 params: <logfile> [<testname> <test method>]
So, command line may look like c:\program files\rcc\logsman.exe n:\logs\log.htm %TestName% %TestMethod%
What are the licence implications?
If you have one license, you may install LogAnalyzer on 1 system. It may be the same system where HostMonitor is installed or any other.

Do you need to install the program or is the .exe file portable?

Installation is not necessary. You may copy 3 files: LogsMan.exe, logsman.ini, larep.lst

Start Log Analyzer on new system, enter registration codes (menu Help->License->Register now). Remove or simply do not start Log Analyzer on 1st system
