Bug in Folder/File Availability Test

Post by Kapz »

Hi !

HM 5.38 on Windows 2003 Server (no SP1):

If you misspell something in the path to a file you want to check through an RMA with the test method Folder/File Availability the test will always return status Good.

It would be better with an answer similar to the one that Test Method Count Files returns in case of a misspelled path name: "RMA: 301 - Folder doesn't exist".

Its not a bug. If you are using "Alert when file exist" option of the test, HostMonitor set Ok status when file (and probably folder) does not exist.
If you switch option to "Alert when file doesn't exist", HostMontior will set "Bad" status.

PS To avoid misspelling you may click on browse button. HostMonitor and RMA allow you to browse files on remote system
