All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
I am monitoring the DHCPServer and DHCP on Windows 2003 servers. When I view the statistics on the results, I get "Unkown Win32 error #5" interspersed with "Ok" messages.
What do the "Unkown Win32 error #5" mean or refer to?
According to Microsoft, error #5 means "Access is denied".
Strange it interspersed with "Ok" results. Does error occur at some specific time, e.g. after server reboot?
You are using Service test method, right?
What account do you use to start HostMonitor (or RMA, if test is performed by agent)?
Do you have installed SP1?
In Windows 2003 SP1 Microsoft made some changes related to security descriptors. But of course it cannot explain why test works sometimes... Probably some bug in SP1?
Alex:
When I unchecked the "connect as" box. thereby disabling the authentication account, I no longer see the error messages interspersed with the "Ok" conditions.
Although, I did see one single Win32 error #1722. After this, there were no more errors of this kind.
Thank you very much for your assistance in troubleshooting this problem.
