Logging into oracle data base: Using of connection pooling

Post by rc »

Hi Alex,
my oracle data base admin told me, that HOSTMONITOR opens and closes every second one new connection on oracle data base. Is that normal? Apart from that logging works fine.
We use HM 5.66 on Windows 2003 Server SP1 with Oracle ODBC driver Oracle80 Ver 3.0.
Connection pooling is activated in HostMonitor settings and also in odbc driver setting. We have now round abaut 350 tests and they are performed every 5 minutes. Information about every performed test is saved in data base. Is it possible to preserve one connection on data base using connection pooling?

Regards
Enrico

I checked our code and tested HM. If "Enable connection pooling" option is selected, HostMonitor sends SQL_ATTR_CONNECTION_POOLING attribute to the driver.
Why driver ignores attribute? Sorry, I don't know. May be a bug?

Regards
Alex
