MS Cluster Environment

Post by CapQwerty »

I would like to have the Remote Monitoring Agent installed on each server to monitor resources on each server and have a second instance of the RMA run on cluster.
Is there a way to do this? Preferably have two copies of the service running at the same time but listening on different ports?

Yes, you can start 2 instaces of the agent on the same system. You should install agent in 2 different directories and setup different TCP ports to use.
But I am no sure it has much sense...

I was unable to install two copies of the service, however I have the phicical server running as a service on port 2000 and the cluster starts a copy on port 3000 and that appears to be running well.
This way the cluster version monitors everything on the cluster
and the physical machines monitor for things unique to that machine and we get an alert on failover
