Hello, in September 2007 there was a question about using SMTP servers like gmail to send email alerts and there was no feature implemented for this at that time.
There was a work-around for this, to provide secure connectivity using stunnel. Is this still necessary or has this feature been implemented in a later version please?
I am currently using version 7.46 and this feature doesn't seem to be implemented yet.
Has this been implemented yet? I'm running 8.28 but having trouble using the mail relay test with a Gmail account. I don't see the option for SSL, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks

Now "Send e-mail" action supports SSL/TLS options and can work with gmail server.

While "Mail relay" test method does not support SSL yet
It is available for POP3, IMAP, LDAP protocols and POP3, IMAP, LDAP tests.
Mail Relay test uses 3 protocols: SMTP, POP3 and IMAP. For SMTP protocol used by Mail Relay test this option is not implemented yet. Sorry
