Dear all,
I have a confusing problem using AHM. I run AHM to monitor wireless network. I use Ping as test method. I configure the ping test as follows:
Time out: 6000
Packet size: 16
Packets: 1
Schedule: 2 seconds
The problem is that AHM often give us wrong status. AHM gives "No Answer" status but in fact it is still alive, and it happens many many times in a day. And its annoying me because I set SMS alert to me and my client.
The strange thing, it happens also to the test to router that I plug into the same switch with the AHM, and I know the router is alive.
The more strange thing is not all the test give us false status. In my network I can say 80% of tested device give us false status.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks

I am confused
1) You was talking about problem with telnet service. Now you are saying web service works. So you fixed telnet service as well or you decided to use Web Service instead?
2) If you forget to specify list of "allowed" IP addresses for some operator, you should receive responce from Web Service. Your web browser would display "Error #401: Unauthorized. Authorization failed. Unacceptable IP address" message on web page.
No responce from Web Service at all means either
- network error (e.g. firewall blocks connection from your browser ro web service)
- invalid address or port was specified for connection
- Web Service could not open TCP port for listening, e.g. specified port is used by another application.
Regards
Alex
