Tests work fine in v5.x but not with 8.5.4
Hello !
We've migrated tests from an old Win2003 with HostMon 5 to a new server also running Win2003 but with HostMonitor 8.5.4. On the hundred or so tests, seven of those always give me Bad or No answer results. I've tried creating new tests with the same parameters but the result is the same. Help or hint would be appreciated.

Its better if we can access your system from HostMonitor running on our system.
How to send test settings? You may send entire HML file to us (use support@ks-soft.net address or just click HostMonitor menu Help->Support) or you may export these test settings into text file (using menu File -> Export to text file) and send text file to us.
BTW: "Bad" test status for URL test means HostMonitor received reply from server and this response indicated some error. E.g. you are trying to check HTTPS web site with expired certificates.

Alex

Thank you for the files but as I see you are checking internals servers, we do not have access to your network so we cannot check anything.
I would suggest to mark "Tune up Reply value" test option and type %HttpCode% as expression string, in such case HostMonitor will display HTTP code in Reply field of the test. So, if your server returns code 404 (page not found) or 500 (internal error), you will see the code.

"Tune up Reply value" Setup : OK
Hello !
Thanks to your help, I've been able to setup the Reply Value.
I have 7 internal web sites giving me 401 errors when run in service mode. These errors disappear when KS Host Monitor is run in non-service mode.
Regards
Simon

401 means Unauthorized.
What kind of authentication used by these servers? Do these servers require client certificate? Do these servers require NTLM authentication?
Have you specified correct account on Service page in HostMonitor Options dialog (usually you need to specify account with admin rights)?

In such case a lot of various tests will not work.
Quote from the manual
===================
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Note #1: When HostMonitor starts as a service, it uses the system account (as all interactive services). But this account may not have all the necessary permissions, so some tests will not work correctly (UNC test, "disk free space" test for shared drives, "CPU Usage" test for remote machines, etc). If you need these tests, you will need to assign a special user account on the Service page in the Options dialog. In this case HostMonitor will impersonate the security context of the user. Do not change the account using the system utility "Services". If you do so, HostMonitor may be unable to interact with the desktop.
===================
In other words: keep local system account when you use Windows Services applet but specify local admin account using HostMonitor options located on Service page in the Options dialog)
