We successfully migrated to Windows 2008 R2 all configuration and tests moved ok.
The only problem we facing now is like this: we install it as a service and we don’t see the icon on the taskbar (like windows server 2003), for lunching the GUI we don’t want to work without a service (application mode) and RCC mode.
We saw this post: http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... ht=migrate
And this one
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... s.85).aspx
And we have the same problems. Is there any news for solution?

Why don't you want to use RCC?
We recommend to use RCC to manage HostMonitor Service under Windows Vista+ systems, otherwise you'll need to stop service and start HostMonitor as Application in order to change settings, add/remove/modify test items etc.
Since version 9.00 Beta, HostMontior running on Windows Vista+ systems allows you to use one additional local RCC connection.

Hey.
We are 4 sys admins in the team, everyone use host monitor console, we logged on in to the server 2003 /console and working on opened host monitor console, when we stopped to use we just disconnect from the server while press X on the left corner.
If more than 1 sys admins want to work with the system the last one just disconnect the previously connected sysadmin.
This Is the way we work with the system and always one sysadmin connected and can make changes on the host monitor application.
For emergency cases and some read only purpose we are using RCC tool we have only one license for this, this way is very comfortable for us, we don’t have any issues with connections and changes with application.
When we try to use RCC on local system it takes the only license for RCC we have and this way we can’t connect from another computer.
HostMonitor response: Command is not allowed. License limit: You may use just 1 RCC
If you want to use more RCC consoles simultaneously, you may purchase additional RCC license(s) at http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/regmon.htm#tools

You can do exactly the same using RCC.We are 4 sys admins in the team, everyone use host monitor console, we logged on in to the server 2003 /console and working on opened host monitor console, when we stopped to use we just disconnect from the server while press X on the left corner.

Looks like you are using some old version of HostMonitor...When we try to use RCC on local system it takes the only license for RCC we have and this way we can’t connect from another computer.
