Change timeout on Folder/File test

Post by BruceB »

I have a tests that return folders sizes. In a couple of instances the folders are rather large and the test times out before it is able to calculate the folder's size. Is there any way to extend the time out to accommodate these larger folders?

Test performed by HostMonitor or RMA?
Do you need over 15 min timeout??

The test is performed by HostMonitor. That is precisely my problem with a couple of my tests. The size of the folder has crossed a threshold where the time to calculate the size of the folder is exceeding the 15 minute timeout.

10,000,000 files?
It HostMonitor checks remote system, I would recommend to install RMA on that system and use agent to perform this test. This will reduce network traffic, cpu usage, test execution time.
Otherwise, there is "secret" option - add ProbeTimeout = 1500 line into [Misc] section of hostmon.ini file and restart HostMonitor.
1500 sec = 25 min

Thanks for the info. I can't use the RMA because the folder resides on a NAS. I will give the ini entry a try.
