Change log to MS SQL ODBC

Post by ThorreP »

Hi Folks,

I'm struggeling to get the logging changed to database MS SQL. The needed ODBC connection can be created successfully (64 Bit and 32 Bit) but I can't selected it in the HostMon logging dropbox. When I enter the ODBC name manually I get error "The specified DSN contains architecture missbatch between the Driver and the Application".

Any ideas to get this settled?

Thanks a lot

>I can't selected it in the HostMon logging dropbox

"can't selected" == "datasource is not in the list"?
Have you created User DSN or System DSN?

Are you using HostMonitor GUI or RCC (Remote Control Console)?
HostMonitor started as application or service?

HostMonitor version?
Windows? Service Pack?

Hi Alex,

thanks for picking up. It looks like that I'm not using the correct ODBC Drivers. Can you tell me which one is correct one so this can be sorted out?

Here the answers to you questions
- Datasource is not in the list
- System DSN
- RCC is used
- Started as service
- Version 10.08
- Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 Enterprise

Driver for MS SQL server? "SQL Server" I think.
It does not matter what driver do you use - you should see datasource you created in the list (wrong driver will not work but you should see it anyway).

- RCC is used
Have you created datasource on system where HostMonitor running (not RCC)?
Have you selected "DSN: System DSN" option on Misc page (HostMonitor/RCC Options dialog)?

Yup MS SQL is in use.
That datasource got created directly on HostMon Service Server and "DSN: System DSN" is enabled on Misc page.
I see some datasources in the list but they are not from the local HostMon Service Server. Looks like they are coming from a remote server.....
When I enter the created ODBC datasource name I get the architecture mismatch error.

Remote server?
May be you setup test for RMA (Remote Monitoring Agent)?
Could you please send screen shots to support@ks-soft.net?

Wrong path to odbcad32.exe
Should be C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
