When I attempt to connect to RCC from a remote computer, I get "Connection error. An invalid argument was supplied".
What could be wrong? I am running HostMonitor Ver. 6.10 Enterprise.
RCC refuses connection

I suppose, you are able to configure CheckPoint settings to pass connection between RCC and HostMonitor. The port is specified on Options > RCI tab (by default it is 1054).Kuecky wrote:I have CheckPoint VPN-1 Build 615 on my system with personalfirewall activated. And i can´t disable it.

I have the same problem
We use Surfcontrol Mobile Filter, when I’m on the network the mobile filter does not filter anything only when working remotely and this only filters web site not Ports etc…
When I uninstall Surfcontol Mobile Filter, RCC works!?!
Any ideas?
Cheers Darren

Re: I have the same problem
Such type of software often modifies the Winsock layer of Windows and it could lead to connection problems. We recommend to install HostMonitor onto clean system.

I have Notebook XP SP2, Checkpoint VPN-1 SecureRemopte R56 - Build 619.
I tried "netsh winsock reset" without reboot and that fixed the problem.
Questions:
- What does "netsh winsock reset" do ?
- There is plenty of other software running on that Notebook without any problems. What is so special to RCC ?
Many thanks

According to the Microsoft, netsh winsock reset command resets the Winsock Catalog to a clean state.JuergenF wrote: - What does "netsh winsock reset" do ?
Nothing special in RCC. Quote from the Microsoft:JuergenF wrote: - There is plenty of other software running on that Notebook without any problems. What is so special to RCC ?

Sometimes Internet Explorer is unable to access the Internet if software known as Layered Service Provider (LSP) has been removed incorrectly from a computer. You might not know you have this software; it is sometimes installed by unrelated software such as file-sharing programs, without your knowledge.

Of course, such issue relates not only to the Internet Explorer.
