Normally updates seem to come out every 1-2 months but been almost 4 months. Is Hostmonitor still being developed?

I think, the version 7.0 will be available in November-December 2007.Kapz wrote:Do you have an idea on when the first beta will be released ?
The new version will support two kinds of the RMA. The first one is existing RMA, which accepts requests from HostMonitor, performs test (or action) and provides information about test result back to HostMonitor. The second one, called "Active RMA", will be able to connect to HostMonitor by itsef, request test list, perform tests and send result to HM.Kapz wrote:Also - does this version "reverse" the communication between HostMonitor and the agents, so that the agents reports back to HM instead of the other way ?
As usual, a lot of improvement, several new test methods and new features will be implemented in the newest version. Coming soon!

Sure. "Active RMA" can perform the same tests, as old RMA. So, you will be able to use "URL" test method.Robert_in_MTL wrote:Will this active RMA be able to make HTTP(S) tests?
BTW. We have slightly improved "URL" test method. Now it supports "POST" method. Also it can use client certificates for authenticaton.

Is there a difference in bandwidth usage ?KS-Soft Europe wrote:The new version will support two kinds of the RMA. Many thanks

Basically - no. We made some changes in protocol (actually we did that many times before) but nothing radical.
Bandwidth usage depends on test settings, how often you want to perform the tests and so on. If you do not change test settings, why agent should use different amount of trafffic?
