Keep alert notification on until item has been acknowledged?

Post by mikepiet »

My deepest apologies if this has been asked before. I searched the forum for 'acknowledge" and could find what I was looking for.

This is what I am looking for...I have created a test item to monitor the event logs. That part is tested and working great.

What I would like is for the alert condition to stay in the GUI until I specifically acknowledge that alert.

Is this possible in some way or another? Again, my apologies Alex if this has been asked before.

Thanks in advanced if anyone can offer any ideas.

If test changes status to Ok, HostMonitor will stop alerts without acknowledgment.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for replying. I realize that if a test status changes to OK, then the alert will stop. That works great for tests like HD size, CPU util and ping and such, but this test is an event log test.

My script, (runs from a logon script) will make an entry into the Application event log when the script detects that an entry was made to the registry key that I defined.

Hostmonitor is working great at detecting the events when they get populated in the event log. Right now I have an interval set to 1 minute.

So I would ultimately like the alert to stay around in case I am out of the office or something. Is there a work around for this kind of setup when monitoring event logs?

Thanks,

Michael

Yes, I understand what do you need but this is impossible in general.
However its possible in case you are using "Play sound" alert method. Then you may mark "Show WakeUP window and play sound repeatedly" alert option
