Quick Log - Updating

Is there any way to get the quick log to update all log information in real time without having to click on the root folder?

Not sure I understand the question. You want to see information about all tests items in Quick Log? Then you have to wotk with Root folder. If you selected some specific folder or test, HostMonitor will show records about that specific folder or test.
If this is realy important for you, probably we can add some option...

At the moment quick log does not update on screen in real time. It would be useful if it was always visably up-to-date so that those who are watching our monitoring PC can see what is happening in real time on the quick log without having to click anywhere.

H'm.. yes, if you have selected folder item, HostMonitor does not refresh Quick Log pane because it may lead to significant CPU load. HostMonitor needs to check log items for each visible test item, sort records, and so on. If HostMonitor performs 30-60 tests per second, such activity may load CPU.
When you select some specific test item, HostMonitor refreshes Quck Log records in real time.
We will try to optimize sorting for folder level log. I have added your request into "to do" list.
