We're see lots of instances of the Host Monitor service crashing. (currently running v3.19) I've setup the recovery options to restart the service, and that works, but notifications get re-sent after this happens. Any ideas what's going on? (thanks)

The Advanced Host Monitor service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
Advanced Host Monitor service crashing often
Probably its hardware problem or error in some 3rd party DLL. 6 or 7 different users had similar problem. In 1 case problem was in MS SQL client library (it crashed application when server was unavailable). In other 4-5 cases HostMonitors installation on another hardware resolved problem.
BTW I think version 3.44 better than 3.19

Thanks Alex. I have moved the HM service to another server already, but the problem remained, so I don't think its hardware.
Is there some way I could enable HM service logging to figure out what the 3rd party DLL may be conflicting? SQL is not on this server, so I'm not sure about that.
I will also perform the upgrade to the current HM version ASAP.
Thanks again.

HostMonitor records information to the log after test performed. If some test crashes application, it happens before HM can update log

What kind of tests do you use?

H'm: PING, UNC, and URL. I don't think Ping test can be reason to problem, it uses standard icmp.dll. UNC test uses standard API calls, it must not be the problem as well.
URL test? Yes, its possible. It uses wininet.dll (part of Internet Explorer), different versions of IE has different bugs.
HostMonitor version 3.50 (will be available on next week) has new HTTP test that works intependently of IE. Hope it will help..
