All,
I have attempted to setup an action to send out an email and I must be missing something, because it is not yet working. When the action is invoked I get the error sequence below:
-------------------------------------
>AUTHLOGIN
<500 Syntax error, command unrecognized
Open Error #500 (500 Syntax error, command unrecognized)
Error: Cannot send to Greg.Schmalhofer@millersville.edu
--------------------------------------
Our mail server is an Exchange server and I believe I have it configured properly, but must be overlooking something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
Email Action Error...
Alex,
I am continuing to work on this and found that if I use the 'Mailer Setting' for authentication method of 'POP before SMTP' it then does work. Is there any other side affect or disadvantage to using this authentication type? (It does seem to work as I just now found out). Thanks again for your help. We did get our license code thanks for your discounts!
Thanks,
Greg

I don't think it will be reason for some problems. Many SMTP servers use this type of authentication. When HostMonitor use this type of authentication it just sends username and password to POP3 server but does not transfer any messages.
You are welcome
