hey

my company tasked me with upgrading our version of HM and moving it to a dedicated machine. All went through fine except for the actions. Although actions.lst was succesfully transferred to the new format and they all appear in the drop-down list, none of the actions are associated with the tests.

Is there a file that retains this information (which actions go with which tests) that I did not copy from the old system to the new system?

HML file contains links to actions. If you just copy all *.LST, *.INI, *.HML files to new system, all configuration will be saved. But you should move all files in one shot. E.g. If at first you move HML file with tests and don't move (copy) actions.lst file, then you start HostMonitor. HostMonitor loads HML file but cannot find actions, it removes all links to non-existent actions.
So, if you still have configuration files on 1st system, close HostMonitor, copy all files in one shot, and start HostMonitor again.

thanks for the tip but....

when I install a new copy of HM v1.78 to a new machine and copy all *.lst, *.hml and *.ini files from the old to the new machine, all actions are correctly assciated with the tests.

but when I upgrade to v3.56 and open HM for the first time, HM says the hml and lst files are changed to a new format. After this happens, the actions are no longer associated with the test.

is there something I'm missing?

H'm, you still use version 1.78?
Ok, problem fixed, update available at http://www.ks-soft.net/download/hm361.zip
Download and unzip update (overwrite HM 3.56), copy .HML file from version 1.78 again, and start HM 3.61

but now I'm going with v3.6...

has the change you implemented for me rolled into v3.6?

and we just bought v3.6 so we are glad to stop using v1.78!

version 3.61 is update for 3.60. So, if you already have installed version 3.60, just download update (zip file), and unzip exe module to the same directory (overwrite 3.60 exe module).
