I cannot change the service account without loosing the possibility to see the hostmonitor window.

I have to change the service account because of permission problems with the performance counter test,
but only "local system accout" is able to interact with the desktop.

Even when I switch back to the user which is currently logged on, I don't get a hostmonitor window to interact with the hostmonitor service.
In the task manager I can see hostmon.exe running but there is no icon starting in the taskbar as usually.
Neither the Menu: "Options-Startup-Service" helps nor the usual regedit parameter "service interaction with desktop, type=110" in the HostMonService.
Only running the service with the "local system account" causes normal behavior.

Hostmonitor runs on XPprof SP1 and I guess this is behavior is new (version 3.60) as I didn't have any problems with the hostmonservice before (and no problems after the 3.60 upgrade too)

with kind regards

No, you should not change service account. Please read the manual:
